April reflections: Go With the Flow, But Keep It Yours 🌸

[5-7 min read]
Hello friends! I used to think I needed to have everything figured out before I could move forward. That I had to choose a clear direction, stick with it, and show up with consistency and perfection. But the truth is—life doesn’t work that way. And neither does creativity.

What I’ve learned through my journey with lilalicreates is that flexibility is not a weakness—it’s a superpower.

The seasons shift, plans change, and our energy comes in waves. What worked for me last month might not work this month. And instead of seeing that as a failure, I now try to embrace it. I’ve started giving myself permission to move with it, to follow what feels right in the moment, and to be okay with switching things up.

This doesn’t mean I don’t have structure or goals. But it does mean I’m allowing space for fun, intuition, and curiosity. After all, what’s the point of creating if you’re not enjoying it?

A few weeks ago, I found myself sketching something completely random and off-theme—just because it felt fun. At first, I hesitated. “This doesn’t fit my current collection,” I thought. But then I realized… why not? It made me smile. It made the process feel light and joyful again. And that’s the whole reason I started lilalicreates in the first place.

And I’ve noticed I’m not the only one thinking this way. Some amazing artists I look up to—like Katnipp and Uncomfy—have recently opened up about how they’re pivoting their small businesses, whether due to personal reasons like burnout or stress, or external factors like rising tariffs and global changes that impact how they work. It reminded me that even successful creators need to take a step back, reassess, and stay flexible. No one has to do everything all at once. We’re allowed to change.

🌸 So here’s what I’m reminding myself—and maybe you need to hear it too:

• Let go of rigid rules.
• Stay true to your heart, even when it doesn’t make sense to others.
• And most importantly: don’t forget to have fun.

I hope lilalicreates can always be a place that reflects that kind of playful, intuitive spirit—because creativity doesn’t bloom in a straight line. It dances. It experiments. It surprises.

Thanks for dancing along with me đź’ś
